Project Prompt: Housing for students in the juvenile justice system with added programing with hopes of reducing recidivism.
Project Proposal: Located five miles from the City of Lexington, KY, growCODE is placed in the center of the areas vast agricultural landscape. This student housing/research facility aims to connect young teenagers that find themselves in the juvenile justice system with industry professionals that are advancing agriculture technology and production. By implementing gps guided farming equipment, farmers are able to reduce land degradation. This equipment, controlled by a third party in the growCODE facility, relies on coding of this advance farming equipment to minimize waste of fuel and land to add decades of farmable years to the land allowing the owners to grow the same crops for decades longer.
